74th Annual ASMS Conference on Mass Spectrometry

What is the ASMS Annual Conference About?

Each year, the annual conference hosted by the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) brings together thousands of scientists, engineers, and technology companies working at the forefront of analytical instrumentation. MPF Products is excited to be returning this year to exhibit at the 74th ASMS Conference on Mass Spectrometry and Allied Topics.

The conference takes place May 31 through June 4, 2026, in San Diego.

What is Mass Spectrometry?

For anyone outside the industry, mass spectrometry might sound highly technical – and it is – but the technology touches far more of everyday life than most people realize. It’s used in everything from pharmaceutical development and semiconductor manufacturing to environmental testing, biotechnology, and advanced materials research. If scientists need to identify or analyze substances at the molecular level, there’s a good chance mass spectrometry is involved somewhere in the process.

Because the field moves so quickly, ASMS has become one of the biggest annual gathering points for the industry. Since the organization was founded in 1969, the conference has grown into a major international event that attracts thousands of attendees, hundreds of exhibitors, and many of the companies helping shape the future of analytical instrumentation. For many attendees, the exhibit hall is one of the most exciting parts of the week because it offers a chance to see new technologies up close and have real conversations with the engineers and suppliers behind them.

That’s where MPF Products comes in.

How Does Mass Spectrometry Relate to the Advanced Vacuum Component Industry?

Mass spectrometers rely on extremely stable high-vacuum and ultra-high vacuum environments to operate correctly, which means the hardware supporting those environments has to perform reliably under demanding conditions. At ASMS 2026, MPF Products will be showcasing a range of UHV-compatible components, including electrical feedthroughs, vacuum viewports, isolators, and related accessories designed for advanced scientific and analytical systems.

But for us, the event is about more than displaying products in a booth. ASMS is an opportunity to connect directly with engineers, OEM designers, researchers, and instrument developers working on the next generation of technology. Those conversations help us better understand where the industry is heading, how our customers’ needs are changing, and how vacuum component requirements are evolving as a consequence.

As analytical instruments continue pushing for higher sensitivity, faster performance, and greater precision, the supporting hardware behind those systems becomes more important than ever. We’re excited to be part of the discussions, collaborations, and innovations taking place at ASMS 2026.
