UHV Overview Ultra-high vacuum (UHV) is a vacuum level where the gas pressure is so low that tiny leaks, surface contamination, and outgassing from materials can control how the system behaves. In most engineering contexts, UHV means pressures at or below about 10⁻⁹ torr (~10⁻⁹ mbar), far below what typical
